Projects for Hospital Patients
MIND MOUSE
Individuals suffering from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) to maneuver wheel chair by their eye brow movements which helps them in mobility. ALS is a motor neuron disorder caused by the degeneration of motor neurons. Slowly the patient loses his voluntary muscle movement, but generally the eye Movements are preserved. Hence using this parameter we are operating the laptop which controls the movement of wheel chair. Movements are preserved. Hence using this parameter we are operating the laptop which controls the movement of wheel chair.

Patient Monitoring System
In spite of improvement in communication links and progress in advanced communication technologies, there are still very few functioning commercial wireless monitoring systems, which are mostly off-line, which have a number of issues to be dealt with. Therefore, there is a strong need for investigating the possibility of design and implementation of an interactive real-time wireless communication system. In our project, a generic real-time wireless communication system was designed and developed for short and long term remote patient-monitoring applying wireless protocol. The primary function of this system is to monitor the temperature and Heart Beat of the Patient and the Data collected by the sensors are sent to the Microcontroller. The Microcontroller transmits the data over the air.At the receiving end a receiver is used to receive the data and it is decoded and fed to a Microcontroller, which is then displayed over the LCD display. If there is a abnormal change in patient’s status an alarm is also sounded.

SMART HAT
Smart hat has smartly been designed for the patients suffering from spina bifida which is a congenital disease. The patient’s head doesn’t remain upright, and flexes down involuntarily. Hence an external stimulus in the form of music is given to the patient using music generator circuit which alarms the patient as and when his head tilts down. The deflection of head is measured using the accelerometer and the information is fed into the microcontroller.

BALANCE SHOE
This project aims at developing a sensor system for use in clinical gait analysis (Locomotion of Humans). This study involves the development of an on-shoe device that can be used for continuous and real -time monitoring of gait. Transmission of the data is in real -time and provides information about the pressure distribution of the foot.
This is very useful for visually challenged people to identify the level of the liquid in the glass when they are filling the glass with the liquid. It consists of two levels, one level indicates half full and second level indicates the end level. When the liquid reaches the first level it gives a long buzz, when it reaches the top it gives a continuous buzz, indicating that the glass is full of liquid.
